Attorney Andres N. Oliveros is a trial lawyer with extensive experience in administrative, criminal, and civil matters before federal courts, state courts, and other tribunals in Florida and abroad. He has litigated cases for the United States in Japan and other countries, represented real people in actions before Florida courts, and advised immigrants from Colombia and throughout South America on immigration matters. Fluent in three languages, Mr. Oliveros oversees all legal matters in our firm, from complex serious injury claims to routine immigration filings. Mr. Oliveros holds degrees in Literature and Italian Studies from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and a law degree with an emphasis on international law from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. While in law school in Washington, Mr. Oliveros became a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps and was then admitted to the Florida Bar in 2002. While serving our country in the Marine Corps, Mr. Oliveros prosecuted hundreds of courts-martial in Japan, and was forward deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, shortly after the American-led invasion of 2003. In Baghdad, Mr. Oliveros served as an operations law attorney for Multi-National Force Iraq, the top military command in Iraq, for over six months. In that capacity, then-Captain Oliveros was charged with providing legal counsel to the top commander in theater on all combat-related operational issues, from detainee interrogation policies to rules of engagement parameters. Upon his return from overseas, Mr. Oliveros later served as Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, prosecuting civilians for crimes committed on U.S. military installations. Following his admission to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Mr. Oliveros was admitted to all federal courts for both the Northern District and Southern District of Florida, and now handles federal and state cases throughout all of Florida. The son of Colombian immigrants, Mr. Oliveros speaks Spanish fluently and takes pride in assisting individuals in their own language, whether in Italian, Spanish, or English.
